I was blown away by this episode. They turned what could've been a simple rap battle in the park to a more cinematic showing of each character doing their verses. I would love to see more Miyuki and Hayasaka being best buddies in episodes to come!

i think the Prez and the Maid is turning into a love triangle with Kaguya as the third point of the shape.

think about it this way, the show originally started with just two male and two female 'main cast members' and a bunch of supporters. normal 'romcom rules' state that group will 'pair up' mutually: male n female leads, and male and female supporters. of course, the Prez and Kagu were in their 'battle for romantic supremacy' with the other two members totally oblivious to the 'secret machinations'. Ishi and Chika were by 'romcom rules' supposed to 'pair up'. unless the 'internal conflict/love triangle' rule came into effect. it is the classic 'Yoko Ono Effect'; her marrying John Lennon led to The Beatles breaking up. using that 'romcom rule' Chika would get a thing for the Prez and battle it out with her best friend Kagu.

now adding the Disciplinarian Miko, the dynamic of the Student Council has skewed to 3F to 2M characters. Ishi has shown he's got a thing for that cheerleading squad girl who is outside the normal 'romcom rules' since the squad girl is OUTSIDE the Student Council Circle of Acquaintances. plus Miko wants to pretty much murder Ishi therefore Ishi finding the cheer girl 'outside the circle' just about had to happen.

the Maid knows the Prez and Kagu have a thing for each other, and the Maid is the only one totally in the know about it. once more 'romcom rules' state that a 3rd party coming into conflict with a 'best friend' over becoming the 3rd point of a love triangle (liking the Prez/wanting to take him for herself/getting revenge on the other woman) is a pretty standard plot-point. now just because Kagu and the Maid aren't exactly best friends doesn't mean this rule is invalid for this show. this rule is know as: 'A Sudden Rival Appears!' shonen titles love this trope, even outside the romcom genre. seinen titles like this show use it also.

The cast didn't have to go so hard on this episode, but they went further beyond and then some. To wit, we got:
1. Shirogane saying "Mom's spaghetti."
2. Fujiwara humming Taps as her body flies through the air via her demise.
3. Haiyasaka tapping into 20% of AmaLee's power and rapping.
4. Haiyasaka (or basically just AmaLee herself) roasting Shirogane's rap while congratulating him.
5. "Why doesn't this world make sense?"

This episode was a goldmine!

in basic summery, Kaguya was dis'ing Kayasaka, saying she's not the type to ever let her guard down or be mature enough to expose her soft side. You could always watch the sub version. I always watch both with this show ^^

For those wondering what Kaguya was saying during her rap; she was basically saying Haiyaskaka is a coward who hides behind her personas. Im guessing they didnt dub that part because its just way to good...

either it is a copyrighted song off the soundtrack for this season... aka a downloadable track... or it is so complex and intricate that Funimation decided to entirely bypass it. Funi limited their 'localizing' of insert and EP/OP anime songs around 15 years ago when the crazy popular 'JVA sing their own characters' songs' movement took off in Japan. there's a lot of female (and a few male) Japanese voice actresses who've even created ad-hoc 'idol groups' around their character's roles. especially the JPop Idol Girl Group Anime actresses. these ladies have even managed to climb their way into the general audience (not otaku) music charts for JPop.
